I have suffered from hearing loss most my life, since one of my ears has been defective since childhood. I therefore learned to live with this disability and try to compensate by lip-reading, sitting myself in front of theaters and meetings, and struggling to hear people who speak softly. Several ear nose and throat specialist over the years and told me repeatedly that my ear was defective and that nothing could be done to help me. A friend recommended that I contact Mr. Alon Sharer. He suggested I get a hearing test to see if I could use hearing aids. In addition to the usual test, I was given a demonstration of how I might be helped to hear, one ear at a time. By end of the test I was hearing speech and other sounds at normal levels for the first time in my life. When I was 25 years old I realized and hearing test confirmed that I have hearing loss in my right ear. For out of vanity I didn’t want to wear those bulky "old people" kind of hearing aid so for 40 years I went through from one embarrassing situation to another. People who were standing on my right side and talked to me thought that I ignore them because I didn’t hear them and I didn’t answer them. I spoke loud to everyone, in person and on the phone.

I don’t know why or what made me decide to get a hearing test now. I went to the Keswick Hearing Centre and Alon did the most thorough hearing test ever possible. After 40 years I have severe hearing loss in my right ear but I also have hearing loss in my left ear too.

My husband and I realized it was time we did something about our hearing loss. We went to Keswick Hearing Center and after the owner had taken much time explaining our situation and testing us, we knew we were in the right place. When we received our hearing aids the first thing we did was turn down the volume on our TV. The owner let us know he is there for us anytime we feel we need to help, and has proved to be honest and he is affordable.

When I first met Alon it was because I had a broken hearing aid. He saw me right away and was very concerned about my hearing and he scheduled a hearing test the next day,which was very thorough, and explained what he was doing every step of the way. Hearing aids were ordered and custom fitted within a few days. Then to make sure that I was satisfied with my new hearing aids I was shown how to put them on, how to clean them and info about batteries. I did have a learning curve putting my hearing aids in but whenever I unexpectedly dropped in for help, Alon took lots of time to demonstrate again and again for excellent service, no nonsense good information and above all caring about you. After having purchased hearing aids for my wife in your store recently,I just wanted to tell you a story I heard at an Alzheimer meeting. The gentleman went with his wife to purchase hearing aids at "ListenUP! Canada". His wife was fitted with two hearing aids. According to the gentleman's story, one of the aids stopped working after a few days. Back to the store they went to have the aid repaired or replaced. The device was never replaced and the repair took a long long time. His wife says she is still not happy with the product or the price they paid for it.

I frank Kunig have been living with a hearing problem all my life. I have seen many specialist through my life and have always been told that from implant operations etc. There was no guarantee it would work. I just received my hearing aids a week ago and one of them stopped working. I call Alon and he said could I come in and see him in an hour.
